Started in fall 2021, the Math Education Collective (MEC) group offers high-quality school-based mathematics support for educators through Boise State University. Collaboration through the MEC provides capacity to meet stakeholder’s goals for improving math education.

Annual Math Teaching Conference
Fun, free day of professional learning for 300+ local educators to share classroom-tested strategies and resources for improving K-12 student learning of mathematics.
AMLC
Sponsored project engaging 30 teams of K-12 educators in improvement cycles to better meet the needs of students who are experiencing difficulty learning mathematics.
RMC
Long-running sponsored project to provide deep, sustained, and effective mathematics professional development for educators in Idaho.
MEC PLUS
Custom math teacher support for school districts. Contract options include facilitated lesson study cycles, consulting for district math initiatives, math coaching and specialist support, pedagogy and content workshops, and more.
RANGE
Collaborative research project between Boise State and University of Idaho to work with 90 rural teachers in Idaho to improve grades 6-8 mathematics teaching through high quality job-embedded teacher professional development.
Math Badging
Part of a multi-state pilot program to study the implementation of a Badge Framework for engaging more students in rigorous, relevant, and diverse learning opportunities in upper-level high school courses.
ROOT
Large research project studying the effective sequencing of instructional practices to improve grades 6-8 mathematics achievement.
MoDAL
Multi-year sponsored project with 500+ Idaho math teachers. Includes workshop materials and dozens of classroom-tested high quality lessons for teaching modeling and data in grades 6-12.
