Changes to Qualtrics custom mailer fields

Beginning Friday, February 2, the ability for Qualtrics users to create a “custom domain” to send emails from Qualtrics will no longer be available.

This update will prevent Boise State Qualtrics users from entering a custom “from” email address. Survey mailers must use the default “noreply@qemailserver.com” address in this field. Users will still be able to edit the “reply-to” email address.

This change is due to upcoming spam mitigation measures that Google will begin enforcing on February 1, 2024, and Yahoo will begin in the first quarter of 2024. More information about this requirement is available on Google’s website.

“From” Email Address

The default for the “from” email address field was changed from “noreply@boisestate.edu” to “noreply@qemailserver.com” on February 2, 2024. This change was made so emails sent from Qualtrics are less likely to be marked as spam.

“Reply-To” Email Address

The default Qualtrics email address of “noreply@qemailserver.com” will appear in the “reply-to” email field. If you do not want respondents to reply to the email sent from Qualtrics, do not change this field. If you want your respondents to be able to reply to you, enter your email address in this field. Alternatively, you could include contact instructions in the body of the Qualtrics email.
