By improving communication, rebuilding governance, and increasing visibility into systems and initiatives, we aim to build trust and ensure better outcomes across campus.

Key initiatives include:

  • Expanding communication and collaboration touchpoints across OIT and campus partners
  • Communicating early and often to build awareness, trust, and shared understanding
  • Providing clear, consistent updates on project outcomes and next steps
  • Rebuilding IT governance to improve visibility, prioritization, and institutional alignment
  • Strengthening partnership with the Executive Team to ensure technology investments support university priorities

Modernize core systems to enhance the student experience

We are investing in modern, reliable technologies that better support teaching, learning, and student success. By improving core systems, expanding key services, and strengthening integration across platforms, we aim to create a more seamless, secure, and effective experience for students, faculty, and staff.

Key initiatives include:

  • Enhancing the Oracle Financial Aid system to improve efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility
  • Transitioning PeopleSoft Campus Solutions to cloud-based hosting for improved reliability and performance
  • Replacing the legacy degree-planning tool with a more intuitive, student-centered solution
  • Expanding Salesforce capabilities to strengthen academic advising and student support
  • Improving integration across systems to provide a more seamless and connected student experience

Build strong foundations for data, AI, and accessibility

We are establishing the systems, practices, and tools needed to responsibly leverage data and emerging technologies while ensuring accessibility and compliance. By strengthening our data foundation, expanding AI capabilities, and advancing accessibility efforts, we aim to support innovation while protecting and serving the entire campus community.

Key initiatives include:

  • Expanding boisestate.ai to provide secure, high-quality AI tools that support teaching, learning, research, and administrative efficiency
  • Developing a modern data architecture to better connect systems and enable reliable data collection, sharing, and use across platforms
  • Advancing university-wide data governance through clear policies, standards, and supporting technical controls
  • Evaluating and implementing tools that support accessibility compliance and align with Title II regulations
  • Partnering with the Office of Compliance to guide and support accessibility efforts across the institution
