WORC Project Topics

Dr. Chyung and her WORC teams have been working on the following projects, resulting in numerous publications and presentations.

Evidence-Based Survey Design Principles

Her research teams have synthesized the findings of over 100 research articles and produced the following published articles, to promote evidence-based practices among performance improvement professionals.

Scale Development and Model Validation

In her research, Dr. Chyung and her colleagues developed a 20-item survey instrument that measures learners’ attitudes toward team projects by:

  • involving a total of 555 human subjects
  • conducting exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses
  • using SPSS and AMOS for statistical analyses

Chyung, S. Y., Winiecki, D., Hunt, G., & Sevier, C. (2017). Measuring learners’ attitudes toward team projects: Scale development through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. American Journal of Engineering Education, 8(2), 61-82.

Dr. Chyung’s research interests also include validating existing models (containing multi-dimensions) with structural equation modeling (SEM).

Validity and Reliability of Survey Instruments

Consulting work: Factor analysis and reliability testing on Wirtgen America’s post-training survey data (Antioch, Tennessee)

  • Dr. Chyung and her client presented at the International Society for Performance Improvement Conference, April 2019.
  • Chyung, S. Y., Stetar, B., & Padgitt, A. (2019, April 15). Why test validity/reliability of your survey data? Presented at ISPI’s Performance Improvement Conference, New Orleans, LA.
