Industry Partnerships Negotiation, Acceptance, and Administration Steps

1)Industry SponsorReach out to the DRED support team. Please identify whether you're already in contact with a Boise State University faculty member (AKA "Principal Investigator").
2)Boise State University DRED support team)When necessary, coordinate with the Office of Research Development to connect the Industry Sponsor with a Principal Investigator in one of Boise State University's Colleges and Schools. Where appropriate, the project team could include faculty, students, and staff from various colleges and departments.
3)Industry SponsorWhen necessary in the Industry Sponsor's opinion, review and enter into a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement with Boise State University. Questions about this form should be directed to the DRED support team. (Note: Using the University's template will save substantial negotiation time for this agreement and the Industry-Sponsored Research Agreement.)
4)Boise State University (Principal Investigator)Collaboratively develop a Scope of Work with the Industry Sponsor. Send this document and the associated Internal Budget to the Office of Sponsored Programs' Pre-Award team.
5)Boise State University (Office of Sponsored Programs: Pre-Award)Route the Scope of Work and associated Internal Budget through normal institutional approvals.
6)Boise State University (Office of Sponsored Programs: Pre-Award)Submit any potential changes to the Scope of Work to the Industry Sponsor for review.
7)Industry SponsorWhen applicable, if any changes to the Scope of Work are acceptable, inform the Boise State University Principal Investigator and the Office of Sponsored Programs' Contracting team.
8)Boise State University (Office of Sponsored Programs: Contracting)Prepare the draft Industry-Sponsored Research Agreement (using the templates available here) and send it to the Industry Sponsor for its review and signature. Countersign and send a fully signed copy to the Industry Sponsor.
9)Boise State University (Office of Sponsored Programs: Post-Award)Set up the financial aspects of the Industry-Sponsored Research Agreement in Oracle (university's financial system) and send a new award notice to the Boise State University Principal Investigator.
10)Boise State University (Principal Investigator)Perform the Scope of Work and keep the Industry Sponsor informed about progress.
11)Boise State University (Office of Sponsored Programs: Post-Award)Support the Principal Investigator and Industry Sponsor during the performance period. Invoice the Industry Sponsor as per the signed agreement.
