Introduction

Learning Goals:

Throughout this semester our goal was to work collaboratively to develop a successful campaign for Boise LIST low-income support organization. In our coursework we have gained practical experience in a professional setting utilizing the ROSTIR model to plan, research, and execute a strategic campaign to support Boise LIST in The Avenues for Hope Fundraiser 2024. Our work within this class has enhanced our understanding of the organization, communication methods, tactical approaches, and strategic planning techniques to effectively communicate with the client and meet their needs.

Working with Boise LIST and collaborating within our student group, we have practiced professionalism and identified strengths and weaknesses in our campaign planning process as a whole. Pushing ourselves creatively, this experience has connected our knowledge in the classroom to a local client. We believe our work with Boise LIST did not only benefit their organization, but deepened our understanding of the challenges low-income communities face in the Treasure Valley, as well as the essential resources Boise LIST provides to facilitate their success.

Reflection

Throughout this course, we worked with Boise LIST to gain a better understanding of how a non-profit organization runs. Before our course, many of us did not know the struggles of finding low-income resources. If someone is trying to reach out for a specific service, it can be hard to find an updated resource. This is where Boise LIST helps the community and gives us a deeper appreciation for the resources that we have easy access to.

In this course, we are taught the complete process of how to plan a campaign from start to finish. Starting with research and ending with evaluation, we now know how to successfully implement and plan a campaign in the world.

Using the new information we were taught, our team was able to plan a campaign to boost funding and overall engagement for the Boise LIST nonprofit. This included gaining more newsletter contacts as well as more followers on their Facebook page to increase donations. What Boise LIST nonprofit. This included gaining more newsletter contacts as well as more followers on their Facebook page to increase donations. What Boise LIST needed was donations, meaning our target audience was those who are older and more able to donate to the annual fundraiser, Avenues for Hope.

We will take with us the process of planning a campaign into our future careers. Boise LIST was a joy to work with and allowed us to make a difference in our community by helping provide access to resources in the low-income community in Boise, ID.

Results

The campaign is planned to run from June of 2024 to December, which unfortunately doesn’t allow us to see how the campaign performed due to the time restraint. Our campaign plan for Boise LIST is to increase community awareness to gain support and donations for the annual Avenues for Hope fundraiser. The campaign we have created provides Boise LIST with structured guidance to further their outreach efforts.
