Submitting Stipends, Fellowships, and other Student Payments

Student Financial Services (SFS) processes payments to students when it is determined that the primary purpose of the payment is educational and the student is not an employee, as well as payments for tuition and fees for students paid by departments.  To determine if a payment should be processed by SFS, visit the Student Payments Website.

Once you have determined that a payment should be sent to SFS, visit the Student Payment Form.

  • This form will guide you through submitting a payment for tuition and fees or student educational expenses.
  • It is very important to make sure you have the correct Student ID. Due to the volume of requests received, SFS does not have capacity to check each form for accuracy.
  • If you are submitting payments for multiple students, a downloadable spreadsheet is included in the form to attach to your request. This includes multiple payment dates, multiple funding strings, or paying multiple students in the same request.
  • Submitters must provide information including the business purpose of the payment, relevant documentation, contact information for approvers, and information on student employment status.
  • Payments are processed daily once all relevant approvals have been received and reviewed. If a student has direct deposit, they can anticipate receiving the funds within three business days.  Checks are mailed first class and typically take up two seven business days.  Please ensure your student has an accurate address and/or direct deposit information.
  • For accounting purposes, no payments are processed after the 25th of the month.  All internal payments happen during the last week of the month, so no account activity will show until after the month ends. Any payments received after the 25th will be processed on or after the first of the following month.
  • Any checks not received or returned by the mail require a two-week wait before being reissued to the correct address. Please reach out to sfinfo@boisestate.edu regarding missing checks more than two weeks old.
