Health Management and Leadership Emphasis
Students will learn the practical management and leadership skills necessary to effectively lead public health and other health promoting organizations. This concentration includes strategic planning, human resource management, budgeting and resource development, coalition building, and public-private partnerships. It prepares students to lead government, nonprofit, and private health promoting organizations.

Student Spotlight: Andrew Nutting
Andrew Nutting, a graduate student, coordinated a study on Legionella, a common bacteria found in water systems and soil. Legionella could lead to Legionnaires’ disease, a pneumonia-like lung infection, making the elderly and people with weak immune systems susceptible to the disease especially since it can be found in respiratory care devices.
