Onboarding

Andrew GiacomazziWelcome to the School of Public Service!

Our School, now entering its 5th year as one of Boise State’s seven academic colleges, is dedicated to excellence in innovative teaching, cutting edge scholarship, and meaningful community outreach, serving the State of Idaho, region, nation and global communities. Our faculty, staff and students work together as collaborators to achieve this mission.

While many of the faces in the School of Public Service may be unfamiliar to you at this point, you will soon get to know this supportive team, comprised of tenure-track faculty, clinical faculty, lecturers, research faculty, administrative staff, professional staff, and advisors. We’re happy you’re here.

It’s an exciting time at Boise State! This past July, Dr. Marlene Tromp became Boise State University’s 7th President. Dr. Tromp, a first-generation college graduate from Wyoming, is already bringing excitement and fresh ideas to Boise State. We look forward to accomplishing great things as we work together.

I know that your career will thrive in the School of Public Service. We pride ourselves in producing great work, in our dedication to our students, and in our service to the Boise State community and beyond. We encourage a balanced portfolio at work, but also encourage you to engage in a meaningful work-life balance. For me personally, I’ve never missed my daughters’ track-meets, nor my son’s baseball games or tennis matches. In a word, we can be productive scholars and staff members while also having the flexibility to prioritize our home life.

While you are settling in—and beyond for that matter, please know we are here to assist you. Our Operations Manager and onboarding specialist, Wendy Wong, can be reached at 208-426-2606 or at wendywong@boisestate.edu or you can always reach us at the SPS Dean’s Office at 208-426-1368 or at agiacom@boisestate.edu.

Again, welcome to the Boise State family and the School of Public Service!

Sincerely,

Andrew Giacomazzi
Interim Dean
