Adrian Kane publishes essay on literary depictions of rivers during Central American civil wars

Adrian Kane, professor of Spanish, recently published his article “Central American Rivers as Sites of Colonial Contestation” in a special issue of Review of International American Studies titled Rivers of the Americas. Kane’s essay focuses on the literary representation of rivers as sites of state-sponsored violence in texts written during and about the Central American civil wars of the 1970s-1990s.
