Design Elements
What is a design element?
- Patterns, unique designs, graphics, illustrations or images that are relevant to the subject of your marketing pieces
- A design element should be used to help tell the story of your marketing, not be a distraction
- It should have the ability to vary to fit the design space
- It is not a logo, or a singular symbol stamped onto your design
Using Design Elements
Use design elements in combination with the university signature mark, never in its place.

Model United Nations
The olive branch and world map are design elements used to help inform the viewer of the connection to the United Nations. These design elements are carried through varying items, from stickers to lanyards to print materials, but are never used in exactly the same way each time.
Also, the university signature mark is included in every example, to show along with our colors and typography, that this is indeed a Boise State University program.
