Professional Experience

Dennis Ahrens has more than 20 years’ experience as a business leader, consultant, and coach to small, medium, and multi-national organizations in the public, non-profit, and private sectors. He has worked with leaders in healthcare, higher education, technology, banking & finance, insurance, retail, and manufacturing.

As an integral coach, Dennis helps senior leaders become more effective in environments of rapid organizational change. Clients working with Dennis report greater ability to respond appropriately in challenging situations and lead with greater clarity, credibility, and interpersonal effectiveness. Working in partnership with Dennis, clients learn to self-correct and self-generate long-term improvement in their professional and personal lives. Dennis helps leaders and teams design and implement transformational change initiatives with an emphasis on executive sponsorship and team effectiveness in complex, adaptive settings. The scope of change initiatives have ranged from software implementations, re-organizations and organizational design, mergers & acquisitions, to physician leadership development, and continuous improvement efforts.

Recent clients include Nike, Microsoft, Seattle University, Oregon Health Sciences University, Russell Investments, The Kennedy Center, and The City of Seattle, among others. As an organizational leader, Dennis was Assistant to the President for Transformation at PeaceHealth, Director of National Technical Training for IBM/Catapult, and Director of Global Education for Concur Technologies.
