The 2-year pre-dental hygiene pathway is designed to help students complete the minimum requirements for most dental hygiene programs in the country. Boise State University does not offer a dental hygiene program. Students that wish to attend Boise State University will be able to obtain the necessary requirements to apply to dental hygiene programs. Students should consult with College of Health Sciences Advisors to determine requirements and consider the possible obtainment of a general Associate of Science from Boise State University to assist in their goals of pursuing a career in dental hygiene.
Although completion of an undergraduate degree is not necessary to become a dental hygienist, some students elect to complete a degree in complementary fields such as public health or health studies prior to application to a dental hygiene program.
