As Vice President of Research and Economic Development, Dr. Nancy Glenn leads Boise State’s research enterprise. Oversees research policy and strategy at Boise State, working with Boise State’s community and partners to engage in the excitement of knowledge discovery and the research process.

Jana LaRosa directs the Center for Research and Creative Activity, a support center connecting faculty to responsive and integrative resources that enhance success in research mobilization, cross-campus & community connectivity, and growth and success as research leaders through tactical support in research development, education, and training, and programmatic sustainability measures. 

Matt Smith leads Research Enterprise Services, comprising two offices, the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research Administration Systems and Analytics. He is responsible for operationalizing and scaling research and creative activity support throughout the sponsored project life cycle, including customer service, personnel and systems infrastructure, compliance, reporting, and growing industry, community, and international partnerships

Matt Lundgren leads the Office of Research Compliance.  He is responsible for operationalizing and scaling physical research space and infrastructure at Boise State University and managing research security. He oversees the research misconduct program, Biomedical Research Vivarium, and ensures the responsible conduct of research. 

Brett Adkins leads the Office of Technology Transfer. He supports research activities and manages the university’s industry relations and intellectual property commercialization for Boise State University.

Roger Brown manages economic development and community affairs for Boise State University. Roger also oversee’s The Junction, a university-wide effort to strengthen Boise State’s capacity for business innovation, research translation, and venture creation. He supports economic growth and related activity with corporations, associations, government, and other community organizations in support of university units, faculty, staff, and students. 

Megan Daigneau oversees the Division of Research Shared Administration and Communication teams. She oversees budgetary and operations matters for the division and assists the leadership team in identifying, developing, and implementing the division’s strategic plan to achieve set goals and objectives.

Responsible for the strategic oversight, research, and advising for the Energy Policy Institute.  Specializes in strategic planning and policy associated with energy transitions and geopolitics.

Responsible for the oversight, growth, and development of the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Extreme Environments portion of the Idaho National Laboratory and Boise State SUPER Agreement.

Responsible for the oversight, growth, and development of the Secure and Resilient Energy Systems
portion of the Idaho National Laboratory and Boise State SUPER Agreement.

Provides vision and leadership in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), represents the university and initiates opportunities, locally and nationally, using his experience as a computer scientist and former NASA astronaut.

Chelan Lippincott (pronounced shuh-LAN) serves as Senior Industry and Business Development Officer in Boise State University’s Division of Research and Economic Development within the Office of Economic Development and The Junction. She connects industry partners with faculty and student research talent across the university.

Chelan brings experience in public media fundraising and higher education partnerships, supporting collaboration efforts that align with Boise State’s path to R1 status. Her work focuses on strengthening regional partnerships, expanding translational research opportunities, and increasing industry engagement to benefit students, faculty, and the broader community.

Supports Fabrication, Characterization, and Testing Suite Recharge Center, the Biomedical Research Vivarium, and other campus recharge center activities.
