5 ½ Things About the Cycle Learning Center

Did you know that the Cycle Learning Center is a full-service shop, open to everyone, right on campus? On University Drive, across from the Rec Center, you can find the shop that educates, repairs, sells, and rents all things bicycles. Here are 5 ½ things you should know about the little shop that makes a big difference on our campus.

1) Get comfortable on a bike with a group

The CLC has plenty of events and programs that you can be involved in. Take the Bronco biking class to learn about bike laws, safety, and commuter practices. Or join the Cycle Learning Center on Mountain Mondays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to ride with all levels of bikers on the Boise trails.

2) Rent a bike and call it your own

Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry, you can rent one from the CLC. Fill out a bike rental form. Biking is a great way to cruise around campus in a more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. As the Cycle Learning Center likes to say, “Stay fit. Save money, Ride a bike.”

3) Register your bike (just in case)

It’s important to register your bike in the event it gets lost or stolen. After registering your bike for free online, bring it to the CLC to finish your registration and receive a verification permit. Check out these safety and registration tips including how to lock your bike correctly.

4) Get services on all things bicycles

The CLC has several services with short turnaround times to keep you and your bike safe. Stop in the shop to see a friendly face and get excellent customer service. You can even do your own quick repairs and cleaning at the FREE self-service stand.

5) Air up your tires for FREE

Speaking of free, you can find air pumps in the CLC shop and put air in your bike tires at no cost! There are pumps stationed outside and inside the shop. Need help? Just ask for assistance and an employee will gladly help you.

5 ½) Win prizes by biking!

The 10k Bicycle Commuter Club encourages students, staff, and faculty to give commuting by bike a try with incentives like free tune-ups, parking passes, t-shirts, and more. Just email clc@boisestate.edu to sign up and track your miles. Get out there and get biking!
