Optimize local search

Local search can be accessed at the top of every web page on the boisestate.edu site.

Boise State uses the Cludo search platform for local website search.

The WordPress Support Team has access to various tools to help configure and optimize search based on search terms and other criteria.

Page rankings

A page ranking allows us to pin results at the top of the list for specified search terms. By using specific search terms , it is possible to manually select particular results to be shown above the organic list of results.

Boostings

Boostings allow certain results to be ranked higher or lower when they match certain criteria based on static rules or search term(s).

Banners

Banners are customizable content displays that appear when users search for specific terms. They are ideal for promoting important information or directing visitors to websites that aren’t on the boisestate.edu domain.

Quicklinks allow us to redirect visitors to a specific URL when they enter certain search terms, bypassing the search results page entirely.

Misspellings

We can correct search terms that are commonly misspelled by visitors and not automatically detected by the search engine.

Synonyms

Synonyms allow us to connect two or more search terms that cover the same topic, ensuring visitors receive relevant results.

Request local search optimization
