Emily Muro (German Sec Ed major, Spanish minor) has been selected as a participant for one of only 25 coveted positions in this new program sponsored by the Goethe Institut and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. She’ll be in Germany at the beginning of August!
2023 Goethe-Institut Summer Academy Global Teaching and Learning
The Summer Academy has been developed for students who study German and who are planning to join the teaching profession. This summer, the Summer Academy will be held in Bremen where we will spend 11 days exploring the town and engaging in a number of facilitated conversations and site visits and professional development opportunities. Participants will travel to Bremen where they will spend time with a group of 25 students from across the US and participate in a multifaceted program, auf Deutsch! We will engage with questions of sustainability and migration and prepare materials in order to integrate these topics into the German classroom at US schools and universities. A team from the Goethe-Institut from both sides of the Atlantic will foster and encourage this transatlantic exchange.
