Fatima Cornwall Presents at 105th AATSP Conference in Salamanca, Spain

On June 27th, 2023 Fatima Cornwall, World Languages at Boise State University, and Dr. Robin Ragan, Modern Languages at Knox College, presented “A career in interpreting: from classroom to the courthouse, clinic and beyond” at the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese’s 105th annual conference, in Salamanca, Spain.

Cornwall and Ragan talked about their interpretation courses, their travel and community-based learning opportunities for their students, as well as the availability of open educational resources (OER) in their fields of interest (medical, court and immigration) for use in classrooms.

Both Cornwall and Ragan are certified Spanish medical interpreters through the National Board of Certification of Medical Interpreters (NBCMI), as well as state certified Spanish court interpreters (Cornwall in Idaho, and Ragan in Illinois).
