The Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies (MDS) degree at Boise State University is designed for adult students returning to college. Our flexible program allows you to maximize the impact of your previous education to expedite your bachelor’s degree. We understand your need to balance school with your professional, personal and life responsibilities. This degree allows you to take classes part time or full time and around your busy schedule. Our staff will guide you to integrate your long-term goals with our relevant coursework. You can do this. It’s time to finish what you started.
With the Flex track you have the option of picking upper division courses from one or more emphasis areas to satisfy your degree plan requirements. In the Flex track, your major required courses are fully online, while the classes you select toward your degree plan could be face-to-face, evenings/weekend, online classes, or a combination of all of the above. You will work closely with your academic advisor to develop a plan that meets your goals.
The Flex MDS will open doors to your future. Graduates find our degree provides them with enormous flexibility, whether they are interested in advancing in their career, changing professions or continuing on to graduate school. Our graduates:
- Enter careers that require a bachelor’s degree but not a specific major. As examples, graduates of our program have pursued occupations as business executives, firefighters, and federal government workers.
- Advance within their company and to positions requiring a bachelor’s degree for promotion.
- Enroll in a variety of graduate programs, including Master of Social Work, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Health Science.
