Data Ports and Phone Lines

You may need to add network ports to an office or classroom location to provide service to more computers, printers, phones or other network devices.

All network wiring installations are completed by OIT or an approved contractor per Boise State policy.

OIT provides construction professionals who can ensure that all Fire and Materials Safety Codes are met during installation, and that the installation meets OIT’s warranty requirements.

This process can be started by placing a request through Help Desk Self Service or calling (208) 426-4357.

An OIT representative will contact you, determine which parts and labor are required to complete the wiring, and provide a cost estimate. If you are budgeting for future work, a safe budget figure is $350-$400 per network location.
