This lecture is provided by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Michigan.

One of OLLI’s most recent Thursday Morning Lecture Series speakers, Kevin Deegan-Krause, Ph.D., is back! Deegan-Krause, a rising star in the Political Science Department at Wayne State University, wowed attendees with his lecture in the Populism series “The Future Lies East: Post-Communist Europe’s New Model of Populism” in December of 2017. His presentation, “How to Talk Across the Political Divide”, is certainly a topic of interest and relevance for OLLI members. Deegan-Krause is the recipient of the Truman and Fulbright Scholarships as well as IREX Individual Advanced Research Grants. He has served as a consultant for the U.S. Department of State on the politics of Central Europe. He is currently working on a new book with Tim Haughton of the University of Birmingham titled The New Party Challenge: Cycles of Party Birth and Death in Europe and Beyond.
