5 ½ Things About Suicide Prevention Week

Mental health is something Broncos care deeply about. We want to spread awareness, break down stigma, lift each other up, and equip ourselves with tools to help our mental health during the week long effort that is Suicide Prevention Week. Here are some of the events going on this week that you should know about. Check out the full list on the Suicide Prevention Week website.

1) Tuesday – BroncoBOLD Pups and Popsicles

Noon to 1:30 p.m. head over to DeChevrieux Field to meet Jett, Boise State’s sports therapy dog, and some of her special four-legged friends.

2) Tuesday – Greg Vogt from Active Minds

Join guest lecturer Greg Vogt for a special talk on “The New Unavoidable: Mental Health Through Transition” at 2 p.m. in the Hatch Ballroom in the Student Union Building.

3) Wednesday – You Donut Know How Much You Matter to Us!

Meet a counselor and grab donuts at the Interactive Learning Center from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

4) Thursday – Therapy Dog Day

Meet some awesome therapy dogs at the Interactive Learning Center from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

5) Thursday – BroncoBOLD Chalk the Walk

Join us outside of the Hall of Fame Plaza from 6-8 p.m. Eat pizza with friends, (served at 6 p.m.) then grab a chalk kit and get busy “chalking the walk” around Albertsons Stadium with positive mental health messages.

5 ½) Bonus event! Friday – Connect 4 A Cause

Check out the student tailgate in DeChevrieux Field before the football game, 5:30-7 p.m.
