Supporting Faculty Success and Academic Leadership at Boise State

The Office of Academic Leadership and Faculty Affairs (ALFA) promotes faculty excellence and strengthens academic leadership by coordinating career development programs, faculty review processes, academic policy guidance, and leadership development initiatives. We work in partnership with units across the university to help faculty members of all ranks achieve their full potential as educators, researchers, and leaders.

Our office contributes most directly to the University’s Strategic Planning goal to Foster Thriving Community.

What We Do

We design, coordinate, and support programs that prepare, develop, and sustain academic leaders at every level.

Faculty Senate Liaison

Academic Policy Development

  • Drafting, revision, and guidance on policies related to faculty and academic affairs

Faculty Personnel Support

  • Consultation and problem-solving related to performance, roles, or policy interpretation

Faculty Data and Analytics

  • Providing data insights to inform faculty-related decisions

Change in Employee Compensation (CEC)

  • Coordination of faculty processes related to merit and compensation changes
