The major provides a solid foundation for those interested in the human resource management function of a business related to strategic management, workforce planning, human resource development, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, and risk management. The major aligns with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates, (link opens a PDF) which sets minimum standards for a degree in human resources.

The Human Resource Management BBA program qualifies for Idaho LAUNCH. Idaho LAUNCH by Next Steps Idaho, is an education and training grant program that provides Idaho students a one-time scholarship for 80% of the tuition and fees for select in-demand career programs – up to a maximum amount of $8,000.


The minor includes 18 credits of upper division Human Resource, Management, and other COBE upper division courses.

Human Resource Association

Human Resource Association (HRA) is a student organization focused on the HR field with opportunities for mentoring, networking and experience. We are Merit Award winners through the National Society for HR Management (SHRM). Learn more about HRA.
