Unable to connect to eduroam?

Connecting to the eduroam wireless network at Boise State University requires the annual installation of a security certificate.

Problems may arise if a device previously connected to eduroam without following the recommended process.

Troubleshooting connection issues

Be sure to check myBoiseState to see if there are any outages impacting campus wireless networking.

Phones and personal computers

  1. “Forget” the eduroam network on your device.
  2. Reconnect to the internet (phones can use a cellular network to reconnect, while computers can use the Bronco-Guest network or a wired connection).
  3. Follow the steps on “Connect to the eduroam Wireless Network” to complete the certificate installation.

University-owned computers

macOS

  1. “Forget” the eduroam network.
  2. Connect to eduroam.
  3. Enter your Boise State credentials (username and password) when prompted.
  4. Accept the new certificate that is offered.
  5. Provide Admin credentials on your Mac.

If these steps fail, reconnect to the internet (phones can use a cellular network to reconnect, while computers can use the Bronco-Guest network or a wired connection), then follow the steps on “Connect to the eduroam Wireless Network” to complete the certificate installation.

Contact the Help Desk if you need additional assistance.

Windows

  1. “Forget” the eduroam network.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Rejoin eduroam (the certificate will automatically update).
