If you need a book that is checked out to another patron, a hold can be placed using the library catalog and the Hold/Request button. You will receive an email when the item is returned, and you will be able to set up a Curbside Pick-up appointment.
Items procured via Interlibrary Loan belong to another library. At the third overdue notice (30 days), the item will be considered lost and the borrower’s interlibrary loan account will be blocked. The library cannot accept replacements for lost Interlibrary Loan material.
The library has 64 lockers on the third floor (outside of Room 302). Lockers are available to all currently enrolled Boise State University students. There is no per semester cost. Keys can be checked out at the Circulation Desk. Lost locker keys will be assessed a $40.00 replacement fee.
Lost book replacement charges are $40.00. Books are considered ‘Lost’ after 30 days. Patrons receive one ‘courtesy notice’ before the item is due and two overdue notices before a final bill is sent. The library cannot accept replacements for lost material as we do collection development based on content replacement, not item replacement. If an item is returned after it has been billed, the cost of the item will be waived. If a lost book has been paid for then subsequently found by the patron and returned within six months, payment will be refunded except for a $25 processing fee.
Damaged book charges may vary depending on the damage and if the item is still usable. Non-usable books will be charged a $40.00 replacement fee. Please contact us for further information.
Lost charges are the cost of the item at the time of purchase. Technology is considered ‘Lost’ after 1 day. Patrons will be billed as soon as the item is overdue. The library cannot accept replacements for lost technology. If an item is returned after it has been billed, the cost of the item will be waived. If a lost item has been paid for then subsequently found by the patron and returned within six months, payment will be refunded except for a $25 processing fee.
Damaged charges may vary depending on the damage and if the item is still usable. Non-usable items will be charged the cost of the item. Please contact us for further information.
The lost and found is located at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor. All items will be taken to the SUB Information Desk or Campus Security each Friday.
An item can be renewed for four loan periods unless a hold has been placed on the item or the materials are required for Reserves.
You can renew your item:

A drive-up book drop may also be found in front of the Hemingway Center accessible from the Central Reserve parking lot.
Overdue notices will be e-mailed. Three (3) days prior to the due date, a courtesy notice will be sent. The first overdue notice will be sent 7 days after the due date, followed by a second notice 15 days after the due date.
Fines or fees are payable at the library Circulation Desk by check or credit card.
