Prepare for Orientation

Get Ready For New Student Orientation
Welcome to Boise State University!
Academic advising is an important part of your orientation process. Advisors will be available to you at all New Student Orientation programs. Your orientation advising experience will go even better if you prepare for it. Here’s how:
Academic Advising at New Student Orientation:
- Day One for First-Year Orientation programs, focuses mainly on placement assessment based on the major that you enter Boise State with. You will discuss with an advisor which Math and English class you will be advised to enroll in. Additionally, you will discuss potential credits you may already be entering college with.
After your Day Two Welcome during your orientation program, you will meet with your assigned academic advisor to plan a viable first semester schedule. You will be advised on what classes to enroll in to help set you up for success for the start of your educational journey. - For all Transfer and Non-Traditional Orientation programs, placement for students as well as advising and registration sessions will take place the same day.
