Checklist for the Protection of Minors Policy Compliance
Boise State Policy 12060: Protection of Minors provides guidelines intended to safeguard minors who participate in University-sponsored or affiliated programs. The requirements of this policy apply to all individuals who interact with minors through University-sponsored or affiliated programs where the University accepts custody or control of the minor participants during the program. The requirements listed below are expected to be completed prior to the start of the program.
At least fourteen (14) days prior to the start of the program, register the program with the Office of Institutional Compliance and Ethics by filling out the following form: Register a Program or Activity Involving Minors
All individuals who will be participating or interacting with minors in programs must successfully complete a background verification before they can participate in the program. To initiate the background verification process, contact Human Resource Services by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Minor Abuse Training
At least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the start of the program, all individuals who will be participating or interacting with minors in programs must complete minor abuse training. There are two ways to fulfill this requirement:
- Complete the online training course found at Interacting with Minors Training or
- Request an in-person training by emailing email@example.com
Program Employee/Volunteer Roster
Provide a roster listing every individual who will be working or volunteering for the University Program to the Minors on Campus Program Coordinator. The Minors on Campus Program Coordinator may be contacted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (208) 426-1258.
